|Gold Sophisticate|

Metallics are always a huge beauty trend on the runway regardless of the season. You can always make it work. Katie and I did some browsing on Pinterest for inspiration and found a gorgeous gold metallic smokey eye that we wanted to re-create. For this look, we used the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess eye shadow palette from a few seasons ago and mixed the majority of the shades together to create a dramatic but wearable light and smokey eye. I'm not an advocate of taking color up to the brow bone, but with this look I felt it was appropriate, and used the lightest shade of gold in the palette to blend out the rest of the shadows and highlight Katie's brow bone. We brought the orange-toned gold shadow all the way in and towards the nose to create more depth. I sculpted Katie's cheekbones with Nars Laguna Bronzer (a great shade for contouring) and added a highlight to the tops of the cheeks. For blush, we just brought the contour down to the cheeks since there's already so much going on with the eyes.

I added Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee to the lips and natural false lashes to the eyes and finished off with Cover Girl Clump Crusher mascara. This eye look would also look extra luxurious with a deep red lip - especially if you were going to a fancy party :)

Here's a comparison to the image we found:
